From Trash to Treasure

Το έργο μου αυτό το μήνα για τη νέα πρόκληση του Scraps N Pieces
είναι η μεταποίηση ενός παλιού μπουκαλιού λικέρ σε ένα διακοσμητικό με λαμπάκια.

This month my project for Scraps N Pieces challenge
is the alteration of an old liquor bottle into a table decoration with lights.


Εμπνεύστηκα από το moodboard " From Trash to Treasure".

I was inspired by the moodboard " From Trash to Treasure".
You can find more detail for our challenge here and upcycle a "trash to a treasure". 


Ένα άδειο μπουκάλι λικέρ, καθαρίστηκε αρχικά από τις ετικέτες.

First, I cleaned an old empty bottle and removed all the labels.


Με ένα στένσιλ και stone effect paste (limenstone) έκανα αστεράκια στο πάνω μέρος του μπουκαλιού. Στη συνέχεια πέρασα το μπουκάλι με icing paste (frosty pearl).
Με αυτοξηρούμενο πηλό έφτιαξα τα σπίτια και τα άφησα να στεγνώσουν.
Αφότου στέγνωσαν άπλωσα crackle paste και gesso.
Τόνισα το κρακελέ απλώνοντας vintage effect wash και για λάμψη ψέκασα με shimmer mister.

With a stencil and stone effect paste (limenstone) I made the stars on the upper part of the bottle. Then I applied icing paste (frosty pearl). The houses are created of air dry clay. When everything was dry, I applied crackle paste και gesso. I also used vintage effect wash and shimmer mister.


Στις στέγες και στα παράθυρα κόλλησα glass glitter.
Στα παράθυρα τοποθέτησα και μεταλλικά στοιχεία.
Έντυσα τον λαιμό του μπουκαλιού με sari ribbon, το οποίο είχα ψεκάσει με shimmer mister.
Έφτιαξα ένα φεγγάρι από χαρτόνι και το έβαψα με μεταλλικό ακρυλικό χρώμα.
Με το ίδιο χρώμα τόνισα και τα αστέρια.
Στον ουρανό χρησιμοποίησα, επίσης, μπλε ακρυλικό χρώμα.
Τέλος κόλλησα στα σπίτια αυτοκόλλητα νούμερα.

On the roofs and the windows I used glass glitter and metal elements. 
I wrapped bottle's neck in sari ribbon, which was painted with shimmer mister. 
I made a cardboard moon and painted it with metallic acrylic paint.
I applied the same colour to the stars.
For the sky I used blues acrylic paint. 
Lastly, I glued some stickers numbers to the houses.

Snowy scene

A fruit box turns into a snowy scene.

Ένα τελάρο φρούτων μετατρέπεται σε χιονισμένο σκηνικό.


For background I used scrapbooking paper (Blue Stars collection, Stamperia),
which was my inspiration for the whole scene.
I painted the box with Dekor Soft Paint, Pentart 
and I decorated it with stencil and modeling paste.

Για φόντο χρησιμοποίησα χαρτί scrapbooking (Blue Stars collection, Stamperia),
το οποίο με ενέπνευσε για όλο το σκηνικό.
Έβαψα το τελάρο με χρώματα κιμωλίας Dekor Soft Paint, Pentart
και το διακόσμησα με στένσιλ και πάστα μορφοποίησης.


The houses, the birds and the word "HOPE" are from air dry clay. 
They are painted with acrylics, delicate metallic paint and metallic wax paste, Pentart.

Τα σπίτια, τα πουλιά και η λέξη "HOPE" φτιάχτηκαν με αυτοξηρούμενο πηλό 
και βάφτηκαν με ακρυλικά, delicate metallic paint και metallic wax paste, Pentart.



Χρησιμοποίησα επίσης  3dballs (Pentart), ύφασμα, σύρμα, 


and metal decorative elements.

και μεταλλικά διακοσμητικά στοιχεία.


When it 's dark, the lights are on !

Και όταν σκοτεινιάζει τα φώτα ανάβουν!

The breath of nature


This is my project for the third stage 
of Mixed Media & Art's challenge" Creative Art".
"The breath of nature".
"We suggest you create any work in the style of a mix-media using ONE non-scrap 
material from nature and also one more obligatory element of this stage - LETTERS in any form." 
 You can find more details here.


 I created a mixed media project on a tree trunk slice.


I made a heart with polvere ceramica and a plastic mold
and a decorative element with gesso and a silicone mold.
I placed them all on the packaging board of agave fibers 
and I also put some agave fibers under the heart..


 I used a dictionary page and I circulated the greek word "δενδρον" which means tree.


 I used dry fruits and leaves from a tree of my yard.
 

I placed a piece of cheesecloth  at the bottom of the composition
and I stuck on it a metal peacock.


 I also used thread, cord, cardboard (the small leaves),
  

 lace, heavy body paste with a stencil


  bronze wire, bronze beads and 3d powder coarse.


I coloured everything with Artex powder pigments.


At the end I made white splashes.

A wanderlust lesson with Marta

Last year, I started art journaling and I discovered Marta Lapkowska
and her amazing videos on YouTube (Maremi SmallArt).
Yesterday, it was her turn to teach at Wanderlust 2017
and I had the opportunity to watch  the two fabulous projects she made.
As I was watching the videos, at the same time I was creating my projects
and I want to share them with you.

 The first one is an art journal spread.

The second project, I decided to create it on a canvas.


 Marta used a tree bark as a base of her project.
I had pieces of tree bark and I separated it into pieces 
and stuck it with modelling paste on a canvas
and I used this as a base for my project.

 At the end, I found out that I had two focal points at my project
and it would be better if it was one.
I will be more careful next time.

Anyway, the fact is that I really enjoyed all the process.

Flooded city

Hello my dear friends.
This time I would like to show you an altered mixed media project. 

I decided to join Mixed Media Art's challenge "Creative Art"
and this is the first stage "Mechanical explosion".
"You must use one metal material not from the scrap store and wings in any form."

The metal material I used is an old frying pan.

Χρησιμοποίησα ένα παλιό τηγάνι.


I made a flooded city from air dry clay.

Έφτιαξα μια πόλη από αυτοξηρούμενο πηλό.


This piece shows a flooded city, sinking as the cloud above is pouring down with rain,
a winged heart is the only one holding the seal in order for the water to escape,
in the fullness of time.
"Τears are words the heart can't say."

Το έργο απεικονίζει μια πολιτεία που έχει πλημμυρίσει και βυθίζετε 
καθώς το σύννεφο από πάνω της βρέχει
και μια φτερωτή καρδιά που είναι η μόνη που κρατάει το πώμα 
για να μπορέσει το νερό να φύγει, όταν έρθει το πλήρωμα του χρόνου.
"Τα δάκρυα είναι λέξεις που η καρδιά δεν μπορεί να πει."


The cloud is made of artista modelling clay and is painted with watercolours.
The drops are made of paper and are painted also with watercolours.

Το σύννεφο είναι φτιαγμένο από artista modelling clay και βάφθηκε με χρώματα ακουαρέλας.
Οι σταγόνες είναι από χαρτί και βάφθηκαν και αυτές με χρώματα ακουαρέλας.


 The tablet is made of air dry clay and Iron Orchid Designs mold.

Η ταμπέλα είναι από αυτοξηρούμενο πηλό σε καλούπι  Iron Orchid Designs.


The heart is made of styrofoam and Stone effect paste, 
the wings are made of artista clay and silicone mold,
the clock is made of gesso and silicone mold.
I used acrylic colours and Artex pigments.

Η καρδιά είναι από φελιζόλ και  Stone effect paste,
τα φτερά της από artista clay σε καλούπι σιλικόνης,
το ρολόι από γκέσσο σε καλούπι σιλικόνης.
Χρησιμοποίησα ακρυλικά χρώματα και  Artex σκόνες.


I made elements from polvere ceramica and silicone molds.
I painted them with rust effect paint or liquid rust.

Χρησιμοποίησα  3d balls και 3d powder coarse.
Έφτιαξα στοιχεία από polvere ceramica σε καλούπια σιλικόνης.
Τα έβαψα με rust effect paint ή liquid rust.



  I also used metallic elements, texture sand paste, cheesecloth, glass beads, fine decoupage paper.

Επίσης χρησιμοποίησα μεταλλικά στοιχεία, texture sand πάστα, τουλπάνι, 
ημισφαίρες γυαλινες και  λεπρό χαρτί decoupage.
